today, swiss aviation software (Switzerland-AS) and Volocopter Jointly signed a multi-year contract for Swiss AS Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) software and AMOS. AMOS will be used to manage Volocopter’s global electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft fleet. AMOS ensures aircraft airworthiness, provides aircraft reliability monitoring and analysis, and serves as Volocopter’s interface to his VoloIQ digital operating system. This is the first collaboration within the Swiss-AS Urban Air Mobility (UAM) setting.
Next year, Volocopter will receive Type Certification (TC) for its two-seater electric air taxi, Volocity. Volocopter will be the first company to launch a commercial UAM service in Europe, where it must meet the same stringent safety standards as commercial airliners. A successful launch and future scale-up requires a reliable UAM ecosystem. Additionally, his eVTOL fleets in the world’s largest cities require faster delivery transit times to maximize space in Bertiport and airports and provide streamlined customer service.
AMOS is ideal for managing vehicle configuration traceability over the lifecycle, covering component design/purchase dates, installation/replacement dates, and total operating hours. In addition, it improves fleet management efficiency by monitoring ground handling operations, deploying related tools, managing ground staff assignments, and reliable monitoring powered by AI. A ground technician utilizes her AMOSmobile/EXE mobile his maintenance solution for a ‘live’ data stream.
Volocopter’s VoloIQ is used to monitor aircraft location and status, battery health, as well as customer-facing services such as the booking process. Integrating Volocopter’s aerial and ground-side operations will enable a fast, transparent, and secure fleet management system that supports the expansion of eVTOL operations.
Fabiano Faccoli, CEO of Swiss Aviation Software said: “The agreement with Volocopter is proof that AMOS stands for innovation. All Swiss-AS employees received this news with excitement. We look forward to working with UAM pioneers Volocopter as they design customer journeys to Z.”
“With Swiss-AS as a partner, Volocopter is moving forward to ensure that Volocity maintenance is managed and executed efficiently and reliably,” said Oliver Reinhardt, Chief Risk and Certification Officer at Volocopter. “AMOS software has a proven track record in the aviation industry and we are confident that our Continuation of Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) and Maintenance Agency Approval (MOA)This is essential for service initiation. Our compatibility with his VoloIQ is essential to providing excellent customer service. ”
