At the 2023 Paris Air Show, Archer Aviation Co., Ltd..and Stellantis Announced the progress of a strategic manufacturing partnership. Construction is currently underway on the world’s first high-volume eVTOL aircraft manufacturing facility located on a nearly 100-acre campus based in Covington, Georgia. Recently, Stellantis increased its strategic holdings with a series of public market purchases of Archer shares.
“Stellatis and the Archer team are in full speed ahead in execution mode to ensure we reach our goal of bringing scalable manufacturing of Archer aircraft online in mid-2024,” said Carlos, CEO of Sterantis. Mr Tavares said. “We are committed to ensuring that this unique partnership sets the standard for cross-industry collaboration and that Stellantis leads the global movement, providing freedom of movement in every way possible. We believe it will continue to be a key pillar of our strategy, and with a trusted team on the ground working side-by-side with Archer, there is no doubt that we are on the right track.”
“Archer’s goal is not just to reach commercialization, but to do it at scale. Together, we can realize a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine urban transportation,” said Archer. And CEO Adam Goldstein. “As we continue to lead the industry in building manufacturing capabilities, we couldn’t be more proud of what we have already achieved with this partnership.”
The goal of this ramp-up phase is to leverage the expertise of both companies to enable rapid expansion of aircraft production in line with Archer’s commercialization plans. Stellantis employees work closely with the Archer team and are involved in nearly every level of Archer’s operations, including manufacturing, engineering, supply his chain, quality, facilities and human resources.
The earliest manufacturing operations will be capable of producing up to 650 aircraft per year, with the potential to expand to support production of up to 2,300 aircraft per year. Production of this scale will make the plant the world’s leading aircraft manufacturing facility by volume.
