Reuters reported Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nollen plans to retire from the FAA this summer to join eVTOL aircraft maker Archer Aviation.

Air Taxi, Advanced Air Mobility
The move could mean that certification of Midnight Air Taxi will proceed more quickly for Archer Aviation. The FAA will release airworthiness standards for the plane in late 2022. Speaking to a drone industry audience at the recent AUVSI Xponential conference, Nolen brushed off delays in flight beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) rulings in commercial drone operations. . Nolen said the newly published “Air Taxi Airspace Blueprint”, with the goal of demonstrating advanced air mobility and air taxis for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
