As the sole provider of all UAS capabilities for SCG Canada’s Covert Forensic Imaging Device (CFID), SkySafe can provide unique insight and training on all aspects of UAS forensics. That’s why the company developed the Applied UAS Forensics Certification Course to give law enforcement and forensic inspectors the skills they need to perform forensic analysis on small commercial and consumer drones.

“SkySafe is a leader in drone forensics,” said Grant Jordan, SkySafe Founder and CEO. “We are excited to bring drone forensics training and certification to the market. As more drones become available, more people are finding opportunities to use them for criminal activity.” We want to equip law enforcement and investigators with the skills they need to combat these threats and prosecute criminals.”

The course covers topics such as best practices for seizure and recovery of UAS devices, including detailed information for performing UAS teardowns, as well as storage, handling, and transportation of recovered drones. Participants will also receive hands-on training using CFID, learning techniques for analyzing extracted artifacts and how to assess patterns of biological activity to determine potential threats.

“Our goal is not only to teach students about common tools for data extraction and analysis, but also to teach examiners what they need to become subject matter experts,” said Sarah Francis, Director of SkySafe Reverse Engineering. It’s about providing important skills.”

The first class will be held in San Diego May 22-24, with more in-person and virtual classes to follow. To learn more about SkySafe’s drone forensics products, or to register for a certification course, please visit: www.skysafe.io/drone-forensics
