DJI Announces Inspire 3 Cinema Drone
DRONELIFE Staff Writer Ian M. Crosby
Leader in drone and camera technology today DJI announced DJI Inspire 3is a full-frame 8K cinema drone designed for top-level filmmaking. Its integrated design features a 161° ultra-wide FOV night vision FPV and O3 Pro transmission and control system. DJI’s first and only cinema-grade drone, the Inspire 3 supports both Waypoint Pro with RTK and omni-directional sensing for safer and more accurate flight missions.
“Inspire 3 is the professional-level aerial platform that every filmmaker has been waiting for,” said Ferdinand Wolf, DJI Creative Director. “By capturing cinematic quality previously only available in large, unwieldy camera systems, users can maximize the potential of every shot. Inspire 3 takes aerial photography to a whole new level.” I look forward to pushing you to the next level.”
The completely redesigned Inspire 3 integrates an FPV camera, vision sensor, positioning antenna, and storage card slot into a compact and robust airframe. This model supports the newly added tilt boost and 360° pan structure. With the landing gear down, the gimbal allows for an obstruction-free 80° upward shot. New hot-swappable TB51 intelligent dual batteries enable up to 28 minutes of flight. Its propulsion system provides flight speeds of up to 94km/h, ascent and descent speeds of 8m/s, and dive speeds of up to 10m/s.
Inspire 3 Features
Inspire 3 utilizes the lightest full-frame Zenmuse X9-8K Air gimbal camera ever and features DJI’s CineCore 3.0, supporting internal recording of CinemaDNG video up to 8K/25fps and Apple ProRes RAW video at 8K/75fps To do. In S&Q mode, the X9-8K Air supports internal recording of up to full-frame 4K/120fps ProRes RAW video without cropping, enabling more creative editing options.
The X9-8K Air supports dual native ISO, delivering EI 800/4000 below 30fps full frame and EI 320/1600 above 30fps. It covers more than 14 stops of dynamic range, and the high dynamic range opens up possibilities for post-editing. The X9-8K Air is compatible with an additional 18mm F2.8 full-frame ultra-wide-angle lens, a new telephoto lens made specifically for 8K aerial photography, and full-frame 24, 35, and 50mm lenses. The DJI Cinema Color System (DCCS) allows the X9-8K Air to retain true colors and provide seamless color matching between the X9-8K Air and terrestrial cinema cameras like the DJI Ronin 4D.
The included DJI PROSSD 1TB offers write speeds up to 1100MBps and read speeds up to 900MBps, and can be connected directly to your computer via a USB-C cable for easy file sharing and seamless workflows.
The Inspire 3 leverages high-precision RTK positioning technology for more stable flight and more accurate flight route planning. Three integrated GNSS systems (GPS + Galileo + BeiDou) ensure precise flight maneuvers even in difficult environments. Enabling the RTK network or setting up a D-RTK 2 mobile station allows users to get accurate location and internal orientation without the need for additional modules or compass calibration.
The Inspire 3 is equipped with nine visual sensors for advanced omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Horizontal, upward, and downward obstacle sensing can be enabled or disabled individually, and obstacle alert ranges can be manually set for different scenarios. Even if Active Avoidance is turned off, users can still view real-time distances to obstacles on the Navigation Display and receive audio alerts when obstacles are within set range, even if the aircraft does not engage in autopilot. can.
The Inspire 3’s 161° FOV ultra-wide-angle FPV lens features a 1/1.8-inch night vision sensor with 3μm pixel size and live feed up to 1080p/60fps with a stable ultra-low latency of 90ms for situational awareness realize the view. Improved flight safety. The model’s new O3 Pro transmission supports a transmission range of up to 15 km with one controller and up to 12 km in dual control mode. 4K/30fps live feed is also supported with 5km transmission range to meet the demand of live streaming on set with Ultra HD output. Dual control mode allows two remote controllers to receive the transmit and control links from the drone independently, allowing the pilot and gimbal operator to stay separate.
The Inspire 3 comes with DJI RC Plus with a 7-inch 1,200-nit high-brightness screen. The internal battery provides up to 3.3 hours of operating time, which can be extended to 6 hours with an external hot-swappable WB37 battery. The device also features HDMI output ports on the front, back and top as well as customizable buttons and dials. The DJI Pilot 2 app provides users with an intuitive user interface with fast boot times and easy access to features.
The Inspire 3 also features Timesync support via a 3.5mm jack for precision control on set. This device can be paired with 1 RC Plus and 1 high brightness remote monitor. This monitor serves as a link to the DJI Pro ecosystem, supporting products like the DJI 4D Hand Grip and his DJI Master Wheel. The DJI 3 Channel Follow Focus can also be connected to RC Plus for remote focus and iris control of the Zenmuse X9-Air camera.
DJI Care Pro is also available for the DJI Inspire 3, providing complete protection against accidental damage with unlimited free repairs under warranty, two free new battery replacements each year, and Flyaway coverage.
Priced at $16,499, the DJI Inspire 3 is available below. store.dji.com and will be available from authorized retail partners by the end of June. This bundle includes the DJI Inspire 3 Aircraft, Zenmuse X9-8K Air Gimbal Camera, RC Plus Remote Controller, 6x TB51 Intelligent Batteries, Charging Hub, PROSSD 1TB, Trolley Case, 3x Foldable Quick Release Propellers (Pair), Lens Carrying Box It is included. , RC Plus straps, etc.
