today, sky pixel announced 8th Annual Photo & Video Contest WinnersThis year’s contest co-sponsored by DJIreceived over 65,000 entries, a 120% increase from last year’s event. The theme of this year’s competition, ‘The Story Behind’, encouraged users to share what matters most to them through both posts and reflections shared on the submissions page.
The 8th Annual Photo & Video Contest welcomes industry like Claudio Miranda (Academy Award-winning cinematographer), Ann Farah (Deputy Editor of Photography for National Geographic Magazine) and Phil Pasthoff (film and other cinematographers). It was evaluated by a jury of experts. Hasselblad master Benjamin Everett, Air Pixels founder Tobias Hegg, photographer George Steinmetz, director of photography Toby Strong, cinematographer Jinping Yu and photographer Wang Ning.
This year’s video jury selected Bashir Abu Shakra’s “Why I Travel the World Aloneis an autobiographical short film produced over the course of four years that combines expansive mountaintop landscapes with family chronicles of Shakra’s childhood to share his personal journey. increase. Judge Jingping Yu praised his Shakra, saying, “He not only cares about the beauty in front of him, but also puts his courage and bravery there, and height is no longer the splendor in front of him.” There is beauty in the dialogue he has with himself.”
“We had to compress hundreds of footage into just four minutes of video,” says Shakra. “Patience is key with such a big project. I kept my best shots private for years until the whole project was completed. There were times when I had to, but I believed that much.”
This year’s photo jury chose Khánh Phan’s “floral dressA bird’s eye view of two women gathering a harvest of water lilies in a pond in which white and magenta flowers form a floating floral dress. Judge Ann Farrar said, “With beautiful floral waves moving across the frame, and a near-perfect color scheme, this beautiful image is remarkably well-composed and balanced, bringing beauty and calmness.” said.
Fans posed for photos in her hometown of Long An, Vietnam, with the goal of sharing her ancestral traditions. “They learned their craft from their mothers and grandmothers and have worked as water lily pickers for many years.
