Skyports Vertiport design approved in Dubai

The design was commissioned by Dubai’s Road Transport Authority (RTA), Skyports Infrastructure, and Joby Air At a closed-door presentation held before the World Government Summit 2023.
This presentation will introduce the RTA and Skyports Infrastructure roadmap for developing Dubai’s Vertiport Network by 2026, showing that the future vertiport infrastructure, such as RTA’s Dubai Metro Network and Dubai International Airport, will be integrated into the existing transport network. We showed you how it integrates with institutions.
Four bilateral port sites near Dubai International Airport, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Downtown and Dubai Marina were presented to a senior delegation including His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. RTA Chairman HRH Matter Al Tayer presented the special delegation with an architectural model of Skyport Dubai International Airport Vertiport. Joby Aviation also advocated for the opportunities offered by air travel in Dubai at the World Government Summit where he joined RTA and Skyports Infrastructure.
Skyports CEO Duncan Walker said: “Dubai’s desire for innovation and infrastructure expansion makes it a very promising environment for the launch of advanced air mobility. We look forward to continuing to work together.”
“RTA’s air taxi plan is in line with the Dubai Autonomous Transport Strategy, which aims to make 25% of all trips in Dubai driverless by 2030,” said Ahmed, CEO of RTA Public Transport. Bahrozyan said. “The project will deploy a new mobility service powered by pioneering technology that facilitates individual travel across urban areas in a safe, smooth and sustainable manner integrated with Dubai’s public transport network. The service is set to go live by 2026.
