The 5th edition of Amsterdam Drone Week (ADW) Hybrid and the EASA High-Level Conference on Drones will focus on connecting cities and regions with drone technology, urban air mobility and a special Dutch Drone Day. ADW provides a forum for the industry’s top innovators to exchange ideas and discuss the future of regulation, use cases and implementations, with regulators and stakeholders across Europe.
Innovative air mobility that connects cities and regions
Innovative air mobility connects more remote communities with economic opportunities within cities. It also enhances transportation options and services such as drone inspection, emergency and security, saving time and investment in infrastructure and people. During ADW Hybrid, the global UAM ecosystem will come together to co-create and work together to advance UAM.
EASA High Level Conference on Drones
The first two days of ADW Hybrid will coincide with the EASA High Level Conference on Drones. This year’s central theme is “Returning to the Future of Secure UAS Operations”.
Program highlights include:
- implementation of UAS regulations with extensive review of lessons learned, challenges and opportunities;
- Building an IAM ecosystem and setting up a realistic implementation program implementation,
- Procedures for integrating U space and airspace.
For Patrick Kai, Executive Director of EASA, the fifth edition of Amsterdam Drone Week will be the last in his current role. Ky contributed to the creation of a successful event and along with RAI He Amsterdam has developed ADW into a major meeting place for his UAM professionals worldwide.
“Over the past five years, the sector has developed into an industry that the world can no longer ignore,” says Ky. in the right direction. We couldn’t have done it without the contributions from everyone who has been there over the last five years. ”
what’s new?
This year many new components have been added to the ADW format, including dedicated city and regional areas where Amsterdam, Paris and Japan showcase their advanced UAM plans to the world.
- Amsterdam is investigating what kind of food delivery could be added as a service in congested areas. Just Eat Takeaway, part of Thuisbezorgd.nl, has teamed up with Dutch Drone Delta to start testing meal delivery on his IJ river in Amsterdam.
- Paris is preparing for innovative mobility beyond ground infrastructure. Paris will serve medical, freight and passenger transport during the 2024 Olympic Games. Pilot tests have already begun, with the goal of establishing two flight paths for flying over densely populated cities during international events.
- Japan will start flying unmanned drones later this year after a successful test period. Pilots are not involved while these drones fly freely over people in urban areas. The Japanese government is currently preparing flying cars for the 2025 Osaka Expo.
Use Cases & Solutions Pavilion
The Solutions Pavilion is built around the pillars of Inspection & Maintenance, Public Safety & Emergency Services, Security & Counter Drones, Surveying & Mapping, and Last Mile Logistics.
In addition, information sessions will discuss topics such as mobility management and SUMP, legal and social stakes for innovative aviation services, U-space implementation and risk assessment, integrated aviation and financing, and investments. will be
The final day of ADW Hybrid (March 23rd) will be entirely dedicated to the Dutch UAM community during Dutch Drone Day organized by the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
