The pilot program kicks off this week, allowing select customers in the Logan area to order a variety of convenient groceries, groceries, snacks and household essentials through the DoorDash app. The time frame is 15 minutes or less. This pilot program will be available to a small number of households initially and will be rolled out gradually over the next few months.
Wing has been working on this new integration for some time, giving customers access to Wing’s delivery service via a third-party app, enabling a highly integrated drone delivery service capable of expedited deliveries. We believe this will be another step towards our goal of scaling.
As such, the company has already taken steps to transform its operations, relocating it closer to retailers to enable faster, simpler and more affordable deployment. As of now, Wing has installed a drone delivery hub on the roof of a local shopping center in Australia and has its first home delivery service in Dallas. In addition, the company recently extend this model to Australia’s Gold Coast.
Wing sees this new integration as a logical next step in its effort to make drone delivery a plug-and-play option for a wider range of businesses and consumers, regardless of which app they order from.
